JOEI - Job Offer Evaluation Index - How Good is the Job Offer
1. Candidate Edition – How to Evaluate a Job Offer
Step 1: Upload Your Documents
-
Locate the Upload Row (at the top of the screen, under the Candidate tab).
-
Click on each button to upload the three required files:
-
📄 JD – the Job Description you received.
-
📋 CV – your latest Curriculum Vitae.
-
📑 Offer – the employment offer letter (or the draft offer).
-
-
Once uploaded, the status will change from “Ready for upload” to “✅ [filename] uploaded” for each file.
💡 Even if these are draft versions, the system uses them to simulate your fit and score.
Step 2: Understand Your Base JOEI™ Score
-
Look at the large circular gauge on the left. This shows your JOEI™ Score (e.g., 6.2 / 10).
-
The coloured badge below it gives you an immediate verdict:
-
🟢 EXCELLENT (8.0 – 10.0) – This offer is highly attractive.
-
🟡 NEGOTIATE (6.0 – 7.9) – Solid, but improvements are needed.
-
🔴 HIGH RISK / PROCEED WITH CAUTION (0 – 5.9) – Significant red flags.
-
-
Below the score, the Profile Assessment Report™ shows a summary of your validated achievements, preferred culture, and any toxicity flags that have been detected.
Step 3: Use the “Job Offer Engineering Section” to Experiment
This is your personal what‑if simulator. You can change any of the following sliders/toggles to see how your JOEI™ score responds in real‑time:
ControlWhat it does
1. Role TypeSwitch between Full‑time (FTE), Consultant, Part‑time, or Fixed Contract. See how job security and benefits affect your score.
2. Remuneration (CTC)Slide to adjust your total cost‑to‑company from ₹1 Lakh up to ₹50 Crores. The display automatically switches between Lakhs and Crores.
3. WFH Days / WeekIncrease or decrease remote work days (0 to 5). More WFH generally boosts your sustainability score and green bonus.
4. Commute ModeChoose your daily travel method: Carpool, Metro/Bus, Bike, Car (Solo), or WFH (Zero). The system recalculates your CO₂e emissions and the associated annual Green Bonus.
-
Watch the Score Ring change as you adjust these sliders. This helps you identify which lever gives you the best score improvement before you even start negotiations.
Step 4: Evaluate Culture & Toxicity (Two Separate Toggles)
Below the main controls, you will see two checkboxes:
-
🚨 Toxic Employer – Check this if you have heard or read about a toxic work environment at this company (e.g., social media reports, news, viral videos).
-
Effect: Your Culture score will be capped and your overall JOEI™ score will drop significantly. A red warning box will appear.
-
Use this to: Simulate the risk of joining a company with a poor reputation.
-
-
⚠️ Toxic Candidate – Check this only if you have a past misconduct report (e.g., disciplinary actions) that HR should be aware of.
-
Effect: This adds a warning to your Profile Assessment Report™ but does not lower your JOEI™ score. It helps HR understand the full context.
-
Step 5: If You Are Offered a Consultant Role – Toggle the Exclusivity Clause
-
If you select Consultant as the Role Type, a special switch appears:
-
🔒 Exclusivity Clause Toggle™
-
Toggle ON (Green) = Non‑Exclusive – you are free to work with other clients. This gives you income security and boosts your score.
-
Toggle OFF (Red) = Exclusive – you cannot take other work. This introduces financial risk and drops your score significantly.
-
-
Action: Keep this ON when negotiating with employers – it shows you value autonomy, and the platform confirms it makes the offer much more attractive.
Step 6: Read the 8‑Dimensional Breakdown & ESG Metrics
-
On the right side, you will see 8 coloured bars representing your scores across:
-
Role–Candidate Fit
-
Compensation & Value
-
Career & Growth
-
Culture & Toxicity Alignment
-
Employment Conditions
-
Benefits & EVP
-
Flexibility & Sustainability
-
Legal & Exclusivity Risk
-
-
Below that, the ESG Module shows:
-
Annual CO₂e Avoided (kg) – how much carbon you save based on your WFH days and commute mode.
-
Green Bonus – the approximate bonus you could earn during annual appraisals for your sustainability efforts.
-
Step 7: Read Your Personalized Recommendations
-
The 📌 Report & Recommendations box at the bottom gives you a clear, plain‑English action plan. It will tell you:
-
Whether to accept, negotiate, or walk away.
-
What to prioritise during negotiations (e.g., increase fixed salary, clarify WFH policy, request an early review).
-
How your CO₂e savings translate into a tangible bonus.
-
Step 8: Print Your Final Report
-
Click the 🖨️ Print Report & Recommendations button at the bottom of the page.
-
In the print preview, all interactive controls (sliders, toggles, upload buttons) are automatically hidden.
-
You will get a clean, professional PDF/paper document containing:
-
Your JOEI™ Score & Verdict
-
The 8‑Dimensional breakdown
-
Your ESG impact (CO₂e saved & Green Bonus)
-
The full personalised recommendation text
-
Take this printed report to your negotiation meeting – it is data‑backed evidence of why you deserve a better offer.
2. HR / Employer Edition – How to Engineer the Perfect Offer
Step 1: Upload the Candidate’s Documents
-
Switch to the 🏢 HR / Employer tab.
-
In the Upload Row, upload:
-
📄 JD – the job description for this position.
-
📋 CV – the candidate’s curriculum vitae.
-
📑 Offer – your current draft offer (even a rough version).
-
-
The upload status will confirm each file is ready.
-
The system instantly computes the baseline JOEI™ score based on the information available.
Step 2: Review the Baseline Score & Weaknesses
-
Look at the Score Ring and Verdict Badge to understand the current attractiveness of your draft offer.
-
The 8‑Dimensional Breakdown (on the right) shows exactly which areas are underperforming – for example, low Compensation or poor Flexibility.
-
These metrics help you prioritise your engineering efforts.
Step 3: Enter the Job Offer Engineering Section – Find the “Intersection Point”
This is your strategic control panel. You can adjust variables to optimise the offer without unnecessarily increasing CTC:
ControlWhat you can do
Role Type: Switch the candidate to Consultant or Part‑time to reduce statutory costs (PF, Gratuity, Insurance). Watch how the score changes.
Remuneration (CTC): Fine‑tune the salary. The slider spans from ₹1 Lakh to ₹50 Crores – suitable for any level.
WFH Days / Week: Increase remote days – often a zero‑cost way to boost the score and reduce the candidate’s commute.
Commute Mode: Estimate the candidate’s travel pattern to calculate CO₂e savings. This feeds into the Green Bonus – an additional incentive you can promote without extra cost.
-
The Goal: Adjust these sliders until the JOEI™ score reaches 8.0 or higher, while keeping your Employer CTC as low as possible. The status badge shows the Employer CTC and the Psychological Forecast to help you judge candidate sentiment.
Step 4: Use the Toxicity Toggles to Assess Risk (Two Separate Flags)
-
🚨 Toxic Employer – Check this if your organisation has had a publicly reported toxic incident (e.g., social media crises, viral news).
-
Effect: The platform caps the Culture score at 4.0 and lowers the overall JOEI™. This is a wake‑up call to address your employer brand before hiring.
-
-
⚠️ Toxic Candidate – Check this if you have uncovered a past misconduct record (from background checks or references).
-
Effect: It adds a clear warning to the Profile Assessment Report™ but does not affect the score. This allows you to flag the risk for your internal decision‑making.
-
Step 5: Master the Exclusivity Clause Toggle™ (Consultant Hires)
-
When you select Consultant as the Role Type, a powerful switch appears:
-
🔒 Exclusivity Clause Toggle™
-
ON (Non‑Exclusive) – The candidate can work with other clients. This makes the offer psychologically safe, boosting the score to ~8.1. The candidate gives 100% effort.
-
OFF (Exclusive) – The candidate is tied exclusively to you. The score plummets (~5.4) and the forecast says “Panicked. Will job‑hunt secretly.”
-
-
Strategic Advice: Always toggle this ON for consultants, and add a standard non‑disclosure agreement (NDA) instead. It saves you ₹1.4L in CTC compared to an FTE, while delivering a happier, more productive workforce.
Step 6: Review the ESG & Green Bonus Dashboard
-
The ESG Module shows the candidate’s expected CO₂e savings and the associated annual Green Bonus.
-
You can use this data in two ways:
-
Internally: Report these savings to your board for BRSR/ESG compliance.
-
Externally: Highlight the Green Bonus as an additional “perk” to the candidate – it costs you nothing but adds significant value to their total compensation perception.
-
Step 7: Read the HR‑Specific Engineering Recommendations
-
The 📌 HR Engineering Recommendations box gives you a curated action plan:
-
Example: “Switch to Non‑Exclusive Consultant mode to save ₹1.4L CTC and boost the score by +1.9 points.”
-
It also advises whether to proceed, renegotiate internally, or walk away based on toxicity flags.
-
-
Use this as your internal memo to justify the offer structure to your finance and hiring teams.
Step 8: Print the Full Engineering Report
-
Click the 🖨️ Print Report & Recommendations button.
-
The print view will remove all interactive elements and generate a professional, board‑ready PDF containing:
-
The optimised JOEI™ Score and Verdict.
-
The 8‑Dimension breakdown with the selected offer parameters.
-
The ESG impact summary.
-
The step‑by‑step engineering recommendations.
-
-
Use this document to:
-
Share with the hiring manager for approval.
-
Attach to the final offer package as a data‑driven justification.
-
Archive for internal equity auditing (proving you offered the “best possible” deal).
-
Final Pro‑Tip for HR
-
Don’t build one offer. Build three. Use the simulator to generate Cash‑Optimised, Flexibility‑Optimised, and Total‑Value‑Optimised scenarios. Present these to the candidate – it makes you look exceptionally transparent and accelerates acceptance.
